Roblox group stores: selling clothing as a group and who gets paid

Guide · Checked

Roblox lets a group sell clothing, not only individual players. This article explains how that works and what changes for money.

The idea

A Roblox group has a Store tab. Items uploaded there belong to the group. Roblox's help center puts it this way: any Robux earned from these sales goes directly to the group, no matter who created the item.

That is the main thing to understand. If a friend draws the design and a group sells it, the friend is not paid by Roblox. The group is. Sort out in advance, between yourselves, how you will share anything the group earns.

How uploading to a group works

Instead of uploading to your own creations, you open the group's pages on Roblox's creator site and use the group's Store tab to create or manage items. The steps inside match the personal route: you choose Shirt, Pants or T-Shirt, upload the PNG, give it a name, and confirm.

You still need a saved PNG from this app. Save it to Photos or Files first.

Requirements for groups

Roblox's rules for groups are the same ones as for individuals, with one extra twist about who needs what:

If the group owner's subscription ends, items sold by the group can be taken off sale.

Practical advice

  1. Decide who owns the group and make sure that person is willing to hold the subscription.
  2. Agree in writing, even a chat message, how earnings are shared.
  3. Keep an eye on who has permission to publish for the group.
  4. Do not use designs you do not have the right to. Roblox bans items that are overly similar to others and fees are not refunded when items are removed.

Why we mention this

Group stores are a way to share the costs: one 80 Robux fee per item is easier to split between friends than to pay alone. They also add some risk, because the money and the control sit with the group. If you are young, ask a parent or guardian before joining or starting a group that sells things.
