Selling Roblox clothes: Plus or Premium, 2-step verification and the 30% share
Guide · Checked
Uploading lets you wear your design. Putting it on sale needs more. This is the full list as of 16 October 2026.
What you need to sell
Roblox's rules for publishing an avatar item for sale, in effect since 14 July 2026:
- Verification: government ID verification or a linked parent account.
- 2-step verification turned on for the account.
- An active Roblox Plus or Premium subscription. Roblox Plus launched on 30 April 2026 at 4.99 US dollars a month. A Premium 1000 or 2200 membership gives the same right to publish and sell avatar items.
- A 10 Robux publishing advance for 2D items like shirts, pants and T-shirts.
On top of this comes the 80 Robux upload fee from the cost article.
If your subscription lapses, Roblox's rules say items are taken off sale. Roblox announced a start date of 1 August 2026 for this. Some players reported in September that it had not been enforced yet, so do not rely on it either way.
How much a sale pays
For a sale on the Marketplace, the creator share is 30% of the price at the lowest allowed price. The price has a floor, which Roblox sets and changes over time. Selling above the floor raises your share:
- At the floor price (1x): 30%
- At 1.5 times the floor: 41%
- At 2 times the floor: 50%
- At 3 times the floor: 62%
Roblox publishes a few more steps in between, and it only applies to Marketplace purchases. Sales inside an experience use the base 30% creator share, with the game owner getting a separate 40%.
New earnings are also held for a while before you can use them. Roblox's documentation mentions a 30 day escrow.
An honest example
Say the floor price is 5 Robux. A sale at that price pays you about 1.5 Robux. Even at 10 Robux and the base share you receive about 3 Robux a sale, against an 80 Robux fee to upload. Roblox's own creator share is real money for people who sell many items, but the numbers do not suit a quick payback, and nothing in this app promises earnings.
Before you decide
- Check you meet every requirement above.
- Check the current price range in Roblox's creator dashboard, because floors change.
- Make sure your design is your own. Roblox bans items that are overly similar to existing ones, and fees are not refunded when an item is removed.
